Every voice matters. Every story deserves to be told. This simple belief sparked my journey into posting on LinkedIn two months ago, and what started as uncertainty has transformed into clarity about my purpose and mission.
The Question That Started It All
Like many people beginning their social media journey, I faced the intimidating question: what do I post about? With a background in strategic communications, I knew I loved communication, not because I was naturally gifted, but because I doubted myself and wanted to improve. The solution became obvious: the best way to get better at communication is to immerse yourself in it.
What surprised me most was discovering I knew far more than I thought. Teaching others became a mirror reflecting my own expertise back at me.
The Mission: Adding Value Through Strategy
My approach is rooted in one principle: adding value. Social media isn’t just about broadcasting; it’s about connecting with people who share your values and interests. When you understand this, the pressure lessens and the purpose becomes clear.
I focus on two interconnected areas:
- Executive Craftsmanship: The art of developing effective content
- Social Media Strategy: The business framework behind consistent, purposeful posting
These skills go hand in hand. You can’t execute without strategy, and strategy means nothing without execution.
The Reality: It Takes Work
Here’s what I’ve learned: the first week or two of posting is easy. But sustaining meaningful content requires strategy; your roadmap that tells you exactly what to post and why. This is where most people struggle, and this is where my background helps.
Strategy begins with research. Deep research about yourself, your audience, the problems you solve, and why those problems matter. You need to understand who you’re helping, make complex information accessible, and stay consistent in your message.
Why This Matters Now
More people will be online in the future. Social media skills aren’t optional anymore they’re essential. Whether you’re posting on LinkedIn, leading a project at your church, or presenting a community resource at your library, the process is the same. Only the medium changes.
But beyond professional development, there’s a deeper truth: if we don’t use our voices to share our stories and perspectives, we allow others to speak for us. Your voice matters. Your story matters. And the world becomes better when we have the courage to share both.
The Invitation
My journey is about helping others develop their communication strategy while refining my own. It’s about making the process less frustrating by understanding the framework behind it. Whether you’re struggling with what to post, how to stay consistent, or how to clarify your message; this is the work I want to help people with.
Because at the end of the day, developing yourself means developing others. And that’s a journey worth taking.
